Brief Description

Kickstart your career in construction with our Quantity Surveying apprenticeship. Gain hands-on experience supporting live projects while working alongside industry professionals, while studying towards a level 4 qualification. Develop key skills in cost management, contracts, financial reporting, and project delivery.

Training to be Provided

The apprentice will complete a combination of on-the-job training and structured learning with Exeter College. Training will take place in the workplace and at college on a day-release basis, typically one day per week.


They will work towards a Level 4 qualification in Construction and the Built Environment, supported by experienced staff and a dedicated college assessor throughout the apprenticeship.

  • Assist with preparing budgets and cost estimates for construction projects

  • Support the monitoring and control of project costs

  • Help measure and value work completed on-site

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost updates

  • Maintain accurate records of project income and expenditure

  • Support the selection and coordination of subcontractors

  • Help review contracts and assist with contractual matters

  • Ensure documentation is organised, stored, and updated correctly

  • Follow and apply health and safety procedures on-site and in the office

  • Work closely with the project team and attend meetings where required

Other Information

Applicants may be invited to attend a short paid trial week during the next half term or summer holidays. This will provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the role, meet the team and better understand the day-to-day responsibilities before starting the apprenticeship.
