Brief Description
Kickstart your career with Baker Hughes as a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice. You’ll gain hands-on experience assembling, wiring, testing and inspecting advanced engineering products while learning both mechanical and electrical skills, supporting high-quality manufacturing and innovation.
Training to be Provided
- Year 1 - Full-time in college
- Year 2 - Day release
- Year 3 & 4 - Full-time in the workplace
Future Prospects
- Progression to a Level 4 Apprenticeship
- Potential move into a Degree Apprenticeship
- Opportunities to develop into roles such as Manufacturing Technician, Test Engineer, or Specialist Engineer.
Vacancy Detail
- Learn to assemble, wire, test, and inspect products in line with technical drawings
- Work across both mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Follow manufacturing processes to ensure quality and consistency
- Interpret engineering drawings and documentation
- Support fault finding down to module/sub-assembly level
- Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and pressure sensors
- Assist with product system setup and testing
- Learn high voltage, pressure, and hydraulic testing processes
- Develop understanding of software, firmware, and industrial systems
- Use business IT systems including engineering documentation and quality systems

- Ability to travel independently and reliably to work and university/college
