Brief Description
The Southampton Engineering Training Association (SETA) is supporting Ingenieur Ltd to recruit a Level 3 Apprentice Engineering Machining Technician to join their team and develop within the organisation. You will be trained to become a skilled machinist, using both manual, semi-automatic and CNC machine tools.
Training to be Provided
Apprentices will undertake a Machining Technician Level Apprenticeship Standard programme.
This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA’s Apprenticeship Centre in Southampton.
You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years. After your initial training at SETA, you will be with your employer, working on developing your skills for your End Point Assessment.

- Train to become a skilled machinist, manufacturing complex, precision parts and components from specialist materials using both manual, semi-automatic and CNC machine tools according to the instructed methods
- Learn to set, operate and adjust / edit equipment settings
- Use a range of hand tools, power tools and measuring devices in the correct and safe way
- Be trained in the use of different methods of measuring accuracy and tolerances, using gauges, and micrometres
