Brief Description

Kick-start your career in property maintenance at one of Oxford's leading independent schools. Gain hands-on experience in building maintenance, decorating, repairs and site operations, working alongside an experienced, friendly team. No two days are the same, giving you the chance to develop practical skills in a unique working environment.

Training to be Provided

Duration:



  • 15 months practical training period, plus 3 months for End Point Assessment


Delivery model:



  • Work-based training with the employer

  • Eleven weeks of block release at Abingdon & Witney College's Bicester Construction Skills Centre (plus induction/revision days)

  • On-site workplace assessment visits every other month throughout the apprenticeship

  • Off the job training will count for at least 418 hours of your time during the apprenticeship


Qualifications included:



  • Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship


End Point Assessment:



  • Multiple choice knowledge test

  • Practical assessment

  • Professional discussion based on a portfolio of evidence and short research assignment

Future Prospects

This is a 2-year fixed-term contract, for the right candidate, upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity for this to develop into a full-time role.

  • Building Maintenance

Training will be provided in the workplace through Abingdon & Witney College where the successful candidate will work towards a Level 2 Maintenance Apprenticeship.

Other Information

This role will involve working outdoors, undertaking physical work, including lifting and moving heavy objects. Full training and supervision will be provided.
