Brief Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about working with children and wishes to begin a rewarding career in education. The successful candidate will work towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification whilst gaining valuable hands-on experience in a thriving primary school environment.

Training to be Provided

The successful candidate will complete a recognised Teaching Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship standard alongside their day-to-day role in school.


Training will include:



  • Dedicated off-the-job training delivered by the apprenticeship provider

  • Development of knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become an effective Teaching Assistant

  • Safeguarding and child protection training

  • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom

  • Understanding child development and educational practice

  • Behaviour management and effective communication techniques

  • Regular reviews and support from both the training provider and an experienced school mentor


The apprentice will have opportunities to learn from experienced teachers and support staff, gaining valuable practical experience throughout the programme.

Future Prospects

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will have gained a nationally recognised qualification and substantial practical experience working in a school setting.

  • Apply for Teaching Assistant positions within schools

  • Progress onto further specialist training or higher-level apprenticeships

Vacancy Detail

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, no two days are the same. You will work closely with teachers and pupils across the school, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.


Typical duties may include:



  • Supporting pupils in class with their learning activities

  • Working with small groups or individual children under the guidance of the class teacher

  • Helping to prepare and organise classroom resources and displays

  • Assisting with reading, phonics, maths and other curriculum activities

  • Supporting children during playtimes, lunchtimes and educational visits where appropriate

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting the school's values

  • Helping pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills

  • Assisting with the assessment and recording of pupil progress

  • Supporting children with additional needs where required
