Working Week: Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm with a 30 minute paid lunch. Occasional weekend work.
Brief Description
Join Silverhand Estate, the UK’s largest organic vineyard, as an apprentice gardener. You’ll help care for the grounds of a Grade I listed buildings and support a productive kitchen garden supplying fresh vegetables to the restaurant.
Training to be Provided
One day per week at Plumpton College during term times.
Future Prospects
Managing their own garden within the estate or promotion to Lead Gardener or Head Gardener.
Vacancy Detail
Day to day work will vary but will include:
- Ground maintenance
- Herbaceous border management
- Plant propagation
- Tree pruning (ornamental and fruit)
- Seed harvesting
- Vegetable production
- Herb growing and propagation
Occasionally support the wider work of the Farm & Conservation team.

As we are based in a rural location, having your own transport is highly advised.
