Brief Description
Motivated apprentice wanted for a game console repair workshop in Stratford, London. Learn to diagnose, repair and test PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo consoles and laptops. Ideal for someone interested in electronics, practical problem-solving, customer service, and working reliably in a small team.
Training to be Provided
- The apprentice will complete their off-the-job training through London Vesta College. Training will take place at London Vesta College
- For the first six months, training will take place once every two weeks. After the initial six months, the apprentice will attend the college on a day-release basis, one day per week, for the remainder of the apprenticeship.
Future Prospects
After completing the apprenticeship, the apprentice may be able to progress into a full-time role as a Game Console Repair Technician or Electronics Repair Technician.
With more experience and training, they may be able to take on more advanced repairs, develop new technical skills, become a senior technician, or move into a team leader or supervisor role.
Vacancy Detail
- Book customer devices into the workshop and update repair records.
- Inspect and help diagnose faults in game consoles, controllers and laptops.
- Safely disassemble, clean and reassemble electronic devices.
- Assist with repairs, including soldering and component replacement as skills develop.
- Test repaired devices to ensure they are working correctly.
- Organise tools, spare parts and customer equipment.
- Keep the workshop clean, tidy and safe.
- Speak with customers about repairs, collections and general enquiries.
- Process customer collections and payments.
- Follow health and safety procedures and handle customer property with care.
- Work alongside experienced technicians, learning new repair techniques and following instructions.
