Brief Description
We're looking for an organised, proactive and professional individual who is looking to begin a career in business administration, sales and customer service. The role will also include some time in the stores carrying out stock-related tasks and preparing products for dispatch, as well as occasional support in the workshop when required.
Future Prospects
Our intention is for this apprenticeship to be the beginning of a longer-term role within AB Fluid Power.
As the successful applicant develops their knowledge of the business, our customers and suppliers, there is the opportunity for the position to grow with them.
Ultimately, we would like to develop somebody who becomes a trusted and important part of the day-to-day operation of the company, with increasing responsibility and the opportunity to shape the role around their strengths as both they and the business develop.
Vacancy Detail
Working closely with the wider team, you'll support the day-to-day administration, sales and customer service activities of the business.
The role is primarily office and customer-facing, with additional responsibilities in the stores and occasional support in the workshop. This varied role may include:
- Responding to customer enquiries by telephone, email and in person
- Providing customers with information about hydraulic hoses, fittings, valves and other products
- Creating accurate quotes and processing sales orders
- Processing invoices and supporting general accounts administration
- Entering and updating customer, order and product information on the company's systems and ERP system
- Maintaining accurate records, databases, spreadsheets and filing systems
- Supporting the sales team with administration and customer follow-up
- Liaising with customers and suppliers to obtain information and resolve queries
- Building positive relationships with trade customers through responsive and professional customer service
- Receiving and processing incoming deliveries
- Supporting stock control and carrying out regular stock takes
- Checking, organising and replenishing stock in the stores
- Picking, packaging and preparing products for dispatch
- Preparing and processing paperwork relating to orders and deliveries
- Assisting with the organisation and maintenance of the stores and office
- Supporting the team with general administrative tasks and projects
- Providing occasional support in the workshop when required, including assisting with practical tasks and developing an understanding of hydraulic hose assembly and workshop processes
- Following company procedures relating to health and safety, quality and customer service
Other Information
- Be comfortable working in a hands-on environment and carrying out tasks in the stores/warehouse when required
- Be willing to occasionally support the workshop and get involved with practical tasks
- Be comfortable working across both office and operational areas of the business
