Brief Description
We have two opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly & supportive team as Level 3 TA Apprentices, working within Key Stage 1. The successful candidates will work alongside experienced teachers to support children's learning, development and wellbeing, helping to create a positive learning environment.
Training to be Provided
An apprenticeship includes regular training with Peterborough College. Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the occupational standard.
Future Prospects
This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to gain a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification while developing valuable practical experience in a supportive primary school environment.
On successful completion, apprentices will be well equipped to apply for qualified Teaching Assistant positions; either within our school (should vacancies arise) or in other educational settings. There may also be opportunities to progress into specialist support roles, higher-level teaching assistant training or further qualifications leading towards a career in teaching.
Vacancy Detail
The successful apprentices will join our friendly and supportive Key Stage 1 team, working with children in Years 1 and 2.
They will work closely with class teachers and experienced teaching assistants to support teaching and learning, both within the classroom and through small-group and individual activities.
Key responsibilities will include supporting children's academic, social and emotional development, preparing learning resources, helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and supporting pupils with a range of learning needs.
Apprentices will be involved in the daily routines of school life and will have opportunities to develop their skills across the curriculum. Their main day-to-day contact will be the class teacher, with additional guidance, mentoring and support provided by the Phase Leader and wider school leadership team.
Other Information
Successful applicants may be able to start at the school prior to the start of the apprenticeship, upon completion of a clear enhanced DBS check.
Applicants MUST have achieved GCSE's in English and maths at grade 4/C or above OR the Functional Skills equivalent at Level 2 prior to the start of the apprenticeship.
All applicants will be required to complete mandatory onboarding assessments, which will consist of some online English and maths assessments and an interview, which may take place in person or over the phone.
Please ensure that you complete the application in full, including the supplementary questions and proofread before submission, as applications with spelling, punctuation and grammar errors will be automatically rejected for short-listing.
