Brief Description
We are offering a three-year apprenticeship, where you will work on equipment ranging from cars, HGVs and a wide variety of airport equipment up to 80 tonne aircraft tractors. You will be trained to service, inspecting and maintain vehicles powered by electric, electric / hybrid and diesel engines.
Training to be Provided
- Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths if required
- One day a week practical and theory at the Langley College
Future Prospects
Anyone completing the apprenticeship programme will be in a position to apply for GSE Technician positions within the organisation.
Vacancy Detail
Tasks to include:
- Work alongside highly skilled technicians to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs
- Assist technicians as required
- Perform safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance and repairs as directed
- Attend training courses
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Other duties as assigned
Other Information
This can be a physically demanding job, involving lifting heavy objects, climbing, etc.
Applicants must 18 years of age or older: Rushflift GSE will only consider applicants of 18 years of age and older, due to the restrictions of anyone younger than this being able to access the airside part of the airports.
Desirable: Full UK Driving Licence.
Essential: A valid legal permit or right to work in the United Kingdom. Able to obtain an airside pass which requires a criminal record check and 5-year history verification.
