Brief Description
At Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery we have a fantastic opportunity for an early years apprentice to support children with their learning and motivate them to explore the world. Shifts will be 8am-6pm 4 days a week. So many great benefits including lunches and cash bonuses supporting your key career milestones.
Qualifications Required
GCSE Maths/English or equivalent, or willingness to work towards the required level of functional skills alongside the apprenticeship.
Personal Qualities
Passion for Early Years education and childcare.
A can-do attitude.
Ability to commit for 12–18 months of training and assessments
Drive for continued development.
Skills Required
Some knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years.
Some knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Good communication skills.
Commitment to working effectively with young children and families
Training to be Provided
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

The role involves planning and organising engaging activities, supervising and observing children aged 0 to 5, supporting their independence and social development, and inspiring them to explore the world around them. Responsibilities also include fostering positive relationships, meeting care needs such as feeding and changing nappies, and maintaining a clean, stimulating learning environment.
