Brief Description
Assist the GIS team, surveyors and directors in the day-to-day workings of the business, which will see apprentices involved in a variety of projects from energy generation such as wind and solar farms, energy storage projects such as battery and hydrogen, and assist in keeping the canals and waterways running as well as the roads.
Training to be Provided
Geospatial Mapping and Science Specialist (degree) Level 6.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Future Prospects
FGP can support your APC to achieve MRICS on the Geomatics Surveyor Route.
Once qualified, the candidate would take on the management of projects they have worked on, tender for their own work, and progress through seniority levels within the company.

What you’ll do at work:
The candidate can expect to undertake the following in day-to-day life at FGP:
- Assisting the GIS team, surveyors and directors in the day-to-day running of the business
- Attending progress meetings with clients and contractors on-site surveying
- Inspect proposed routes for cables and pipelines
- Undertake land searches for solar farms and battery storage sites
