Brief Description
We are offering a vacancy for someone to come and work at Boarshaw Private Day Nursery and complete a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship.
Training to be Provided
You will work towards the level 2 Early Years Practitioner Standard, attending college at least once per month or being taught in your workplace.
Future Prospects
Upon completion of this apprenticeship, you have the opportunity to move into a full-time role with the possibility of completing a Level 3 apprenticeship.
Vacancy Detail
To undertake the appropriate induction and ongoing training
To help ensure that health and safety policies are implemented and reviewed
To ensure the nursery complies with the child protection policy
Help to report and investigate accidents, carrying out first aid duties if required
Help ensure the rooms are well resourced, clean and free from hazards
Help to prepare the food and serve food and refreshments in line with food hygiene requirements, ensure that meal times are a pleasant social sharing time
CARE, LEARNING AND PLAY
To work cooperatively with the members of the team to assist in the planning, preparing and organisation of activities for the children in line with the foundation stage curriculum
Help ensure that all resources are used efficiently and effectively
Interact with the children in order to develop their creativity, self-esteem, knowledge and skills.
Help to identify any possible special needs and report your concerns to your Team Leader
Help to maintain children’s development records by supplying examples of work
Help to provide warmth and support for any child who is ill
Ensure that safety is paramount
To develop your role within the nursery
Begin to have sound knowledge of the Foundation Stage Document and demonstrate this understanding in your practice at all times
Learn to be able to work with children across all ages
PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS AND CARERS
Help to ensure that all personal information regarding the child or parent is kept up to date
To help contribute to the production of a half-term newsletter
To help maintain a professional and helpful relationship with parents
LIAISON WITH EXTERNAL AGENCIES
To assist in the preparation for external inspections
To represent the nursery with external events, training courses or networks, to help promote the nursery within the local community
To complete your qualification within the time scale
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Carry out all responsibilities within an equal opportunities framework
Work alongside staff members to achieve the objectives of the nursery and the children
To follow the Rochdale’s safeguarding units' child protection policy
To carry out a personal DBS check at the start of your training
To follow the Early Years Foundation Stage document
To attend any relevant training to ensure one's own personal and professional development
Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times
Be respectful and maintain confidentiality at all times
To be a good role model at all times, especially with students who may be in the nursery
