Working Week: Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4:30pm. Friday, 8:00am - 1:00pm. Candidates who are over 18 may be eligible to work condensed hours.
Brief Description
A fabricator will produce work made from thick metal plates and structural steel sections, such as columns and beams, using a wide range of tools and equipment. This will contribute to projects for large-scale buildings such as the Nuclear Power plant at Hinckley Poit C - which is currently the largest construction site in Europe.
Training to be Provided
- You will attend Alliance Learning on block release for the first 6 months and on day-release from that point onwards, completing your Level 3 qualification over 48 months
- You will follow a learning plan in the workplace, supported by a mentor
- Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
Future Prospects
- Once qualified, you will become a Fabricator Welder and, depending on your progress, you might have the opportunity to become a Foreman or follow the Inspection route
