Brief Description
We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious Electrical Apprentice to join our team at our major oil refinery. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in a high-hazard, high-performance industrial environment, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
Training to be Provided
- The candidate will follow a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme and study towards an Engineering Maintenance Technician qualification. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College - South & West
- If you do not already hold GCSEs at grade A-C / 8-4 in English and maths you will complete Functional Skills in the related subjects to attain Level 2 Functional Skills

Vacancy Detail
As a Power& Control ( Electrical Apprentice), you will work alongside experienced technicians and engineers, supporting the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical systems that keep the refinery running safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
Under Supervision you will:
- Assisting in the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, including motors, switchgear, control panels, and distribution systems
- Learning and applying refinery safety procedures, including permit-to-work systems and industry best practice
- Supporting planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure equipment reliability
- Helping to diagnose faults and carry out electrical repairs under supervision
- Completing training modules, coursework, and on-the-job assessments to progress through the apprenticeship programme
- Working collaboratively with maintenance teams, engineers, and operations staff
Other Information
- Must be able to commute to Stanlow Oil Refinery daily and to Cheshire College South & West
- Driving Licence would be beneficial
