Brief Description
GDL Automotive Ltd based in Wigan have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice Vehicle Damage Panel Technician to join their busy workshop.
Training to be Provided
Vehicle Damage Panel Technician Level 3.
The apprentice will work 4-days per week at the employer's workplace (WN3 4AY) and attend 1-day (6-hours) per week at Bolton College (BL3 5BG).
Future Prospects
On completion of the qualification and apprenticeship there might be the opportunity to progress to full-time employment with the company, or to a higher-level apprenticeship.
Vacancy Detail
The apprentice will work as part of a team completing tasks such as:
- Initially shadowing other members of staff in a learning and supporting role
- Assessing a vehicle's damage
- Selecting and using the correct tools and equipment for vehicle body repairs
- Removing and replacing Panels - exterior and non-permanently fixed
- Removing and replacing structural vehicle body panels
- Completing minor repairs to vehicle body panels
- Learning how to Spot and MAG weld
