Brief Description
An exciting opportunity to join one of the South East’s leading suppliers of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services. A four-year apprenticeship with an in-depth structured training programme based upon the repair of industrial rotating equipment, gaining valuable engineering skills throughout.
Training to be Provided
- Maintenance and operations engineering technician Level 3
Year 1 of the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, the learner will attend four days a week within IPS Rochester workshop, completing practical skills (Performing Engineering Operations) and one day a week studying the Technical Certificate. In Year 2, the apprentice moves to day-release and will attend IPS one day a week to continue the Technical Certificate. Starting in Year 2 and continuing until completion in Year 4. The apprentice will continue to receive regular training and contact with IPS all throughout the programme.

Vacancy Detail
Year one spent full time at IPS (college) and years 2 – 4 spent in each MKE (employer) department, gaining valuable engineering experience and skills from experienced mentors throughout the business.
- Dismantling and reassembly of rotating equipment
- Electrical test and diagnosis
- Mechanical & electrical fault finding
- Rewinding of electric motors
- Dismantling and assembling pumps, motors, gearboxes and fans
- Dismantling, inspecting and assembling bearings and associated systems
