Brief Description
Varied and diverse 4-year machining apprenticeship that will develop as experience, skills and educational studies progress. Based at a small pump manufacturing company that is well established and respected in field. Opportunities for diversification and further development into different areas of business upon completion of apprenticeship.
Training to be Provided
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with your employer and Make UK, which are fully paid for, including:
- Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Practical Foundation Training - in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
- Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Workplace
- Competence Training - in years 2 to 4 in company
- Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 1, 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK
- In house training in line with your requirements
- Further qualifications deemed necessary by your employer
- On completion of your studies, you will achieve your full apprenticeship certification that will prove competence as a Level 3 Machining Technician
Future Prospects
- Potential opportunity to continue to HNC upon completion of apprenticeship and further education
- Opportunity to progress into other areas of business, such as sales, service or engineering design
Vacancy Detail
During your apprenticeship, you will be working towards the following competencies:
- Machining apprenticeship
- Use both conventional and CNC milling machines and centre lathes to produce components in various materials for use in the assembly of pumps and fabricated bespoke units
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Use measuring equipment to achieve required quality requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
