Brief Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an Employer Engagement Coordinator, offering the opportunity to complete a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship while developing skills in project management, communication and stakeholder engagement.

Training to be Provided

Alongside the role, the successful candidate will complete the Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship. The programme develops knowledge and skills in project planning, stakeholder management, communication, leadership, budgeting, risk management and project delivery.


The apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of workplace learning, online taught sessions and monthly coaching support over a 16 month period.

  • Coordinate employer engagement activities and maintain relationships with industry partners

  • Support the planning and delivery of careers events, employer workshops and student engagement activities

  • Assist with organising work experience and industry placement opportunities

  • Maintain accurate records, databases and project documentation

  • Work closely with internal teams, employers and external stakeholders

  • Support students with career opportunities, apprenticeships and progression routes

  • Help coordinate meetings, communications and project timelines

  • Track activity, gather feedback and support reporting on engagement outcomes

Essential skills:



  • Ability to track and analyse data regarding the effectiveness of employer encounters

  • Excellent organisation skills to manage the UTCN employer database

  • Understanding of the "Gatsby Benchmarks" for careers education

  • Knowledge of the local / regional apprenticeship and internship landscape

  • Familiarity with the Arkwright Engineering Scholars programme

  • Building and maintaining a portfolio of employer contacts

  • Planning and coordinating events, such as Careers Fairs or interview days

  • Experience working with or advising students on career destinations

  • Proactive approach to making contact with new recruitment partners

  • Collaborative nature to work across the wider Careers and PSHE teams

  • Strong communication skills for leading student sessions and meeting employers

  • Ability to work flexibly, including "Term Time + 2 weeks" and supporting various school duties

  • Strategic planning skills to set agendas for industry groups

  • Marketing skills to support whole-school promotional events

  • Knowledge of PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) curriculum planning

  • Understanding of school governance and reporting structures

  • Experience working within an educational setting or supporting Gatsby Benchmarks

  • Experience minuting formal meetings (e.g., Industry Parnertship Groups)
