Brief Description
This is a real work opportunity on live construction projects. Successful candidates are expected to be reliable, professional, willing to learn, and contribute productively on-site while developing valuable trade skills and earning a wage.
Training to be Provided
Interior Systems Installer Level 2.
The apprentice will be based at our site in the Greenwich area; they may need to travel to attend lectures/workshops.
Future Prospects
Becoming a skilled Interior Systems Installer (Dryliner).
Further progression can be in Supervisory and Management roles within the sector and the construction industry at large.
Vacancy Detail
- Work on live construction sites, contributing to project delivery while learning from experienced staff
- Take responsibility for completing tasks both under supervision and independently as competence develops, in line with apprenticeship behavioural standards
- Carry out general site duties to support productivity, including moving materials, preparing work areas, mixing materials, and maintaining clean and organised workspaces
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively in line with site procedures and safety requirements
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and plans to ensure accurate and efficient installation work
- Measuring, cutting, and installing plasterboard to form walls, partitions, and other interior systems
- Installation of suspended ceilings, raised floors, insulation, and soundproofing systems
- Carry out finishing works such as sealing joints between plasterboards to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish
- Maintain compliance with all site safety protocols and professional standards at all times
- Fulfil the duties and meet the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) outlined in the relevant apprenticeship standard
- Maintain accurate apprenticeship records, including a logbook and portfolio evidencing work completed and skills developed
- Work towards successful completion of the Level 2 Interior Systems (Drylining) Installer Apprenticeship

- Applicants must be resident within the Royal Borough of Greenwich, in line with local employment commitments under Section 106 obligations and the Council’s ESG and local workforce development priorities
- This is a physically demanding construction role carried out in active, fast-paced site environments, often working to strict project programmes and deadlines
- The role requires regular manual handling, including lifting, carrying, and positioning materials such as plasterboard sheets, metal studs, insulation, and ceiling systems
- Work frequently takes place at height (e.g. working from towers, scaffolding, and mobile platforms) and in unfinished building environments exposed to dust, noise, temperature variations, and other typical construction site conditions
- Candidates must be prepared for repetitive physical tasks and sustained periods of standing, bending, and overhead work
The role requires a strong level of resilience, reliability, and the ability to maintain productivity under pressure while working safely at all times - The working environment is team-based, but individuals are also expected to take responsibility for their own tasks and, as competence develops, work independently when appropriate in line with apprenticeship behavioural standards
- A commitment to punctuality, consistent attendance, and adherence to site rules and health & safety requirements is essential;
- Applicants must demonstrate a genuine interest in learning a skilled trade and developing a long-term career in construction, rather than viewing the apprenticeship as akin to a classroom-based programme or themselves as students
