Working Week: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30 including scheduled college lessons. Occasional weekend mornings on a rota basis once competent in surgery.
Brief Description
An Apprentice Dental Nurse is required for a friendly NHS dental practice, offering apprenticeship training for dental nurses. Duties include: assisting other dental health professionals, providing chair side support and a high level of patient care.
Training to be Provided
- Dental nurse (integrated) Level 3 qualification undertaken with Sandwell College; lessons will take place within the practice with an assessor attending once per week
- It is an essential requirement that you have GCSE of equivalent qualifications in English and maths at a minimum of grade C/4 to undertake this apprenticeship. Proof of GCSE grades/predicted grades should be shown at interview
Future Prospects
- Once qualified nurses will be required to register with the GDC. Further progression may well be available in other areas within our sector, upon successful completion of Dental nurse (integrated) Level 3 apprenticeship
Vacancy Detail
The role will involve:
- Assisting Dentists/Hygienists/Therapists in surgery
- Patient care, chair side support
- Supporting dental care delivery and working as part of a team to execute a first-class service
- Decontamination and other duties relevant to the role of apprentice dental nurse
Other Information
You will be required to undertake hepatitis B immunisation as part of this role. This is a course of 3 vaccines. Some aspects of the role cannot be carried out until the first vaccine has been received.
