Brief Description

As an Apprentice you will work alongside  professionals to learn and develop skills in groundwork and civil engineering. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting, specialist energy infrastructure projects.The role will assist in various aspects of construction, including site preparation, drainage, concreting and paving.

Future Prospects

A career as a groundworker in civil engineering typically begins in an entry-level role, supporting site teams on construction projects such as roads, foundations, drainage systems, and utilities. In the early stages, individuals build practical skills in excavation, concreting, kerbing, and pipe laying, while gaining essential site safety knowledge and industry qualifications such as CSCS cards and NVQs. With experience, groundworkers can progress to skilled or senior positions, taking on more complex tasks and greater responsibility for quality and productivity.
