Brief Description
Join Hull City Council’s Revenues team as an Administration Apprentice. You will be responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates and BID accounts. You will maintain accurate records, and deliver excellent customer service. Gaining valuable skills while working in a busy, customer-focused environment.
Future Prospects
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity of full-time employment upon completion of the advanced apprenticeship if available.
Vacancy Detail
- Support and coordinate the efficient administration of Council Tax, Business Rates and BID services, including processing customer information, maintaining records and supporting billing and collection activities.
- Provide advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders through telephone, face-to-face, written and electronic channels, ensuring accurate, clear and professional responses to enquiries.
- Maintain accurate Local Taxation databases and customer records, ensuring liabilities, payments, discounts, exemptions and account amendments are processed correctly and in line with legislation and Council policies.
- Coordinate appointments and administrative support for officers undertaking customer visits, including scheduling, rearranging appointments and carrying out follow-up contact where required.
- Support and promote effective income collection processes through the issuing of bills, reminders and recovery correspondence, and by assisting with debt recovery activities in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer and financial information in compliance with Data Protection legislation, information governance requirements and Council policies.
- Work collaboratively and promote effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, partner organisations and external agencies to support consistent and high-quality service delivery.
