Brief Description

DN5 0RR. Skills4Science is looking for a Chemical Laboratory Technician Apprentice to support our client’s growing analytical testing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical laboratory experience while working towards a recognised qualification.

Training to be Provided

Laboratory Technician Level 3.

Future Prospects

Because of the technical experience you will gain from working in a laboratory, you will gain skills which many graduates have yet to develop. If you have practical ability, ability to solve problems and good communication skills there are opportunities for progression towards higher qualifications.

What You'll Be Doing (Doncaster)


Working within a professional laboratory environment, you will:



  • Prepare samples for chemical analysis

  • Assist with laboratory testing procedures

  • Operate analytical equipment under supervision

  • Record and interpret test data

  • Maintain laboratory documentation and records

  • Follow quality assurance procedures

  • Assist with sample receipt and tracking

  • Support equipment calibration and maintenance

  • Learn laboratory best practices and testing standards

  • Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment

  • Follow strict health, safety, and environmental procedures


As your skills develop, you'll gain exposure to specialist testing techniques used across environmental and industrial sectors.

Entry Requirements:



  • GCSE maths, English, and Science (Grade 4/C or above preferred). A chemistry qualification desirable but not essential

  • No previous laboratory experience required
