Brief Description
An exciting opportnity for 2 Maintenance Engineer Apprentices to join our Casting Maintenance team at our Exeter site. This hands-on apprenticeship provides training in electrical and mechanical maintenance, working alongside experienced engineers in a manufacturing environment. There maybe opportunities for welding and fabrication training.
Training to be Provided
As a Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Apprentice you will follow a structured training plan combining on-the-job learning with off-the-job technical training to help you develop the full set of skills, knowledge and behaviours required by the apprenticeship standard.
You will attend South Devon College one day per week.
Future Prospects
The successful apprentice may have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship or a degree pathway depending on the role.
Vacancy Detail
- To learn and perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of plant services and equipment to detect and prevent problems
- Assist with the installation, repair, adjustment and testing of equipment and components to ensure that systems function properly
- Follow work processes and safety standards closely to ensure a safe working environment
- To be committed in working towards achieving the competencies set out in the apprenticeship standards
- Maintain an apprenticeship training record to be produced when required

To be eligible for the apprenticeship programme the following must apply:
- You have the right to work in the UK
- You must not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2025 or later
The next start date will be September 2026; however, the successful candidate could join Howmet prior to September to begin to build a meaningful portfolio of evidenced learning.
