Brief Description
Start your career in construction as a Groundworker Apprentice. You’ll gain hands-on experience in site preparation, drainage, concreting and excavation while working towards a recognised qualification. Earn while you learn, develop practical skills and build a rewarding career with experienced industry professionals.
Future Prospects
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity to progress into a full-time Groundworker position
- Further development could include gaining additional plant and machinery qualifications, becoming a skilled Groundworker or Site Supervisor
Vacancy Detail
- Assist with site preparation and clearance before construction work begins
- Dig trenches and excavations for foundations, drainage and utilities
- Help install drainage systems, pipes and underground services
- Prepare and lay concrete, kerbs, paving and other groundwork materials
- Operate and maintain hand tools and small plant equipment safely
- Load, unload and move materials around the site
- Follow health, safety and environmental procedures at all times
- Work alongside experienced groundworkers to learn industry skills and techniques
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and organised
- Attend college or training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme
