Brief Description

We offer a Level 6 Quantity Surveyor Apprenticeship in a chartered quantity surveying practice based in Marsh Barton, Exeter. Including a day release at UWE Bristol. We are an award-winning professional practice, with an established apprenticeship programme. We specialise in high-end residential projects across Devon and Cornwall. 

Training to be Provided

The Apprentices training will be at the University of the West of England, Bristol. 


It will be a 5-year course (ST0331) with one day per week at the University. The rest of the week you will be working in Exeter.

Future Prospects

Following the chartership, you will become a lead quantity delivering projects by yourself.

Cost Management



  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects

  • Support the development of cost plans throughout project lifecycles

Measurement and Quantification



  • Measure construction works from drawings and specifications

  • Assist in preparing tender documentation


Procurement and Tendering



  • Support tendering processes and contractor selection

  • Analyse tender returns and prepare comparison reports

  • Assist with procurement strategies and contract recommendations


Contract Administration



  • Support the administration of construction contracts

  • Assist with interim valuations and payment assessments

  • Help manage variations, change control, and claims

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation


Financial Reporting



  • Prepare cost reports and cash flow forecasts

  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets

  • Assist with final account preparation and agreement


Stakeholder Communication



  • Attend project meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and suppliers

  • Prepare meeting notes and commercial reports

  • Build effective working relationships with project stakeholders
