Brief Description

To undertake a structured apprenticeship programme to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience required to become a fully qualified Mobile Mechanical Fitter. The role will support the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment across site and remote locations.

Training to be Provided

The apprenticeship training will take place at National Construction College East, Bircham Newton on block release. This is to be confirmed once the apprenticeship has started. 

Future Prospects

Upon completion of the level 2 apprenticeship, the apprentice can look to complete the level 3 course. After this they can then look into being a qualified Fitter within the plant department.

  • Undertake a CITB apprenticeship programme, combining academic study and on-the-job training


Learn and develop competencies in:



  • Mechanical fitting and assembly

  • Electrical systems (basic diagnostics and installation)

  • Hydraulic systems and high-pressure equipment

  • Fault finding and diagnostics

  • Preventative maintenance

  • Reactive repair work


Assist experienced fitters in:



  • Maintaining plant and machinery to a high standard

  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults efficiently

  • Ensuring equipment is safe and operational


Support both workshop-based and on-site activities, including:



  • Site visits

  • Remote working assignments

  • Periods away from home when required for training or project work

  • Follow all health & safety procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and training progress

  • Take responsibility for personal learning and development throughout the apprenticeship
