Training to be Provided

The successful candidate will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group at their Worksop campus on a day release format, giving you the training and support you need to become an all-rounded and successful Engineer.

Vacancy Detail

Your training and responsibilities as an Machine Shop Apprentice, will include (but not be limited to) the following:



  • Set and operate manual lathes, milling and drilling machines as required

  • Work towards programming, setting and operation of CNC machinery

  • Accurately follow job cards and update accordingly

  • Understand and read engineering drawings/symbols

  • Operate overhead crane as required (once trained);

  • Operate forklift truck as required (once trained);

  • Work to quality standards required for the components;

  • Cut materials from stock bar maintaining material identity at all times;

  • Undertake final inspections of finished components;

  • Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area for colleagues and yourself;

  • When trained, ensure job timings are met/exceeded
