Brief Description
Gain experience in a world-class testing facility using latest technology. Help test/ certify products that fly around the world. Develop practical engineering skills, working alongside experienced professionals, gain industry experience from day one. Course Contents and Implementation:
- Duration 48 months - this includes the six-month End Point
- Assessment period

Responsibilities
- College delivery for the standard and qualification (CCN & apprentice)
- Apprentice Development Plan (CCN & apprentice)
- Workplace Reviews at least every 12 weeks (employer, CCN & apprentice)
- Workplace visits to build evidence/ portfolio (employer, CCN & apprentice)
- On-the-Job Training Plan (employer & apprentice)
Delivery pattern:
- The release pattern for this course is once a week (term- time only)
- Additional sessions (including examinations) may be run in holiday periods, if needed, and by prior agreement with the apprentice and employer
Training Plan
- Apprentice will attend college one day a week
Future Prospects
- Hopefully a permanent role will be available upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship
Vacancy Detail
In your role as our MTest Apprentice Technician, you will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to:
- Support dynamic, static, and life cycle test setups for both MIRUS Aircraft Seating products and external customers
- Assist with development and certification testing in line with customer requirements and international aviation regulations
- Learn how to set up and operate high-speed cameras used during testing
- Support the setup of computer-controlled data acquisition systems
- Develop technical skills to help maintain testing equipment, test areas, and dynamic sled systems
- Support safe working practices by reviewing and following risk assessments within the testing facility
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure tests are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently

Ensuring they are comfortable in the MTest facility where there is large, moving equipment, extremely bright lights and will be working with both Mirus internal and external, non Mirus customers. MTest does test products in certain situations such as crash/emergency landings.
