Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship — Timperley
About the role:
As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you'll train towards becoming a registered healthcare professional, working alongside pharmacists to ensure the safe, accurate and lawful supply of medicines. This is a genuinely demanding apprenticeship that will stretch you academically and professionally — you'll develop deep clinical knowledge, sharp technical skills, and real responsibility for patient safety.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing, assembling and supplying prescription medicines accurately and safely, in line with legal and clinical standards.
Providing clear, person-centred advice on prescription and over-the-counter medicines, and referring appropriately to pharmacists or other healthcare professionals. - Supporting the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, including stock control, ordering, business processes and clinical governance.
Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions, orders and patient records accurately. - Supporting and helping to train pharmacy support staff as you progress.
- Contributing to audits, service evaluations and continuous improvement.
- Maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality and patient safety at all times.
Qualification:
- Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A-level).
- On successful completion, you'll be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Training delivered through blended learning alongside your role.
