Working Week: Working hours and pattern Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Working location/site - This may be split between 2 sites in Boston (2 miles apart, on same road route) both are Albert Bartlett & Sons sites.
Brief Description
Kick-start your HSE career and play a key role where you can make a real impact. We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to work in our HSE department to help create safer workplaces, drive continuous improvement, and support a culture of excellence across our operations.
Training to be Provided
Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a Training Centre. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Future Prospects
Progression to HSE Advisor/Officer/Manager.
Vacancy Detail
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our operations meet all health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements. You will work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain effective health, safety, and environmental management systems in line with current legislation and company policies
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance
- Provide advice, guidance, and training to employees to promote safe working practices
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and lead actions to prevent recurrence
- Follow, develop and implement environmental initiatives to minimize the company’s environmental impact
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to HSE activities
- Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement within the organisation
Other Information
Skills:
- IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Confidence to raise awareness and improve the safety culture across all levels of the business once trained
- Capable of proactively leading and managing own workload
- Enthusiasm to become involved with the training and development of staff, improving their HSE understanding and capabilities

Essential Qualifications:
- Previous experience of analysing data and compiling reports
- Numeracy and literacy skills
- Good IT skills
Desirable:
- Some experience and/or knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and practices
- Experience of working in a fast-moving business may also be advantageous
