Working Week: Monday- Friday 8.00am- 3.45pm, with time allowed for study, course work and training. Term time only but you may be offered the choice to work some days during holiday cover.
Brief Description
To assist in the Nursery (under supervision). Play alongside the children, help them put on clothes and shoes, prepare snacks, assist qualified staff in planned learning activities. Help set up the activities in the garden and in the Nursery rooms.
Training to be Provided
Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Standard portfolio of evidence of:
- Knowledge
- Skills
- Behaviours
The End Point Assessment (EPA) consists of two distinct assessment methods:
- Professional discussion supported by portfolio of evidence
- Knowledge exam
Working towards Functional Skills English and maths at level 1 and 2 if required. This will be one day a week for 6 weeks for each subject with an exam at the end.
Paediatric first aid and safeguarding training.

Future Prospects
We are looking for an early year’s apprentice to study NVQ Level 2 and on successful completion of level 2, we would offer continued employment to study for Level 3.
Level 3 is the requirement for a Group Leader. If Level 3 is completed successfully, we would be able to offer permanent employment as a Group Leader.

- To work alongside a qualified keyworker and assist her in her daily routine with her group

- A desire to help all children, including those with special need, to achieve their learning goals and develop the skills they will need to successfully transition to Reception, when they leave nursery
