Brief Description
This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in warehouse operations, logistics and inventory management. Working alongside an experienced stores team, the successful candidate will receive on-the-job training while completing a recognised apprenticeship qualification through college.
Training to be Provided
You will study at Kirklees College located in Huddersfield.
Future Prospects
You will work towards a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification while gaining valuable hands-on experience within a growing manufacturer of specialist emergency vehicles.
Vacancy Detail
Throughout the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be trained to:
- Receive, check and safely store incoming deliveries
- Pick and issue materials to production teams
- Replenish warehouse, lineside and electrical stock locations
- Assist with inventory control and stock counting activities
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company's inventory management system
- Help identify and resolve stock shortages and material discrepancies
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment
- Support continuous improvement activities within the stores department
- Assist with waste management and general housekeeping
- Learn safe manual handling techniques and warehouse best practices
- Work with other departments to ensure materials are available when required
- Learn how to safely operate warehouse equipment (including Fork Lift Trucks, where appropriate and subject to age, training and certification)
- Support deliveries and collections as required
Other Information
- A genuine interest in warehousing, logistics or manufacturing
- Good basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to learn and complete the apprenticeship qualification
- Ability to undertake a physically active role involving lifting, bending and standing throughout the day
