Working Week: Monday to Friday 0830-1730 with 30 mins unpaid lunch each day.
Brief Description
Working under the guidance of experienced SHEQ professionals, you will support the implementation of the company's SHE and Quality management systems.
This role provides exposure to construction sites and operational environments, allowing you to build practical experience and study towards their nationally recognised qualification.
Training to be Provided
During your apprenticeship you will undergo remote learning through live webinars, forums, one to ones with a dedicated learning coach. You will receive constant feedback and coaching through RHG’s team of experienced learning coaches. You will gain the Level 3 Safety Health and Environment Technician Standard qualification, an IOSH approved Accident Investigation Certificate. You will be eligible to apply to the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) for Tech IOSH status on successful completion of your programme.
Future Prospects
SHEQ Advisor and then on to SHEQ Manager.
Vacancy Detail
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop professionally and take increasing responsibility throughout the apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the SHEQ team with promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture across the business.
- Accompany SHEQ Managers on-site inspections, audits and safety visits.
- Learn how to identify workplace hazards and report findings appropriately.
- Support the completion of risk assessments, inspections and monitoring activities.
- Assist with recording accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate documentation is maintained.
- Help monitor the completion of corrective actions following inspections and audits.
- Support the maintenance of SHEQ records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Assist with producing SHEQ performance reports and analysing data trends.
- Support the delivery of toolbox talks, inductions and safety communications.
- Develop an understanding of relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation.
- Build knowledge of company policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Attend operational meetings and site visits to gain practical experience.
- Work closely with managers and employees to encourage safe working practices.
- Complete all apprenticeship assignments and attend training provider sessions as required.
- Take responsibility for personal development, applying learning within the workplace.
