Working Week: 39 hours per week – 8 hours Monday to Thursday, 7 hours on Friday. No weekend work.
Brief Description
Persimmon Homes Severn Valley are currently looking for Bricklaying
and Carpentry Apprentices.
All of our apprentices will work alongside qualified and experienced
bricklayers/carpenters to learn the trade and assist in all aspects of
bricklaying/carpentry on a busy construction site.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Carpentry and Joinery (Joinery & Site) Level 2
- Using timber products to create and install building components.
- City of Bristol College (Advanced Construction Skills Centre)
- Day Release
Future Prospects
Full-time employment with a Carpentry or Bricklaying Contractor.

- Understand different techniques and methods used to move,
handle and store materials - Access, interpret and use drawings and specifications to carry out work
- Understand how to calculate quantity, length, area and
wastage - Use, maintain and store hand/power tools
In addition to learning the skills required to become a competent bricklayer/carpenter, apprentices will also obtain the knowledge and behaviour to support them in the construction sector.
We are looking for candidates that will work safely and responsibly at
all times, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and
training.
Successful candidates will be punctual and excellent attendance is
expected at both work and college.
Candidates will need to have Maths and English qualifications at
GCSE grade 3 or higher, or Functional Skills Level 1 or higher.

- Previous bricklaying/carpentry qualifications an advantage but not required as full training and guidance from both Persimmon and the
college will be given
