Brief Description

Vecta is a supplier to Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK. This role is based within Vecta's garage on the Nissan site, where we maintain the fleet of vehicles used across the Nissan facility. We also provide fleet management, servicing and maintenance for vehicles belonging to other suppliers operating on the Nissan site.

Training to be Provided

4 days per week at Vecta.


1 day per week at Newcastle College Automotive Centre (Scotswood Road).

This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to build a long-term career with Vecta. Upon successful completion, there is the potential to progress into a full-time Technician position within the garage team.

Vacancy Detail


  • Assist experienced technicians with routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles

  • Learn how to diagnose and identify mechanical faults using industry-standard diagnostic equipment

  • Carry out basic servicing tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations and brake inspections

  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

  • Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers where required

  • Develop technical knowledge and practical skills throughout the apprenticeship

To be successful in this role, you should have:



  • A genuine interest in motor vehicle maintenance and repair

  • Some previous experience working within a garage environment

  • Ideally have completed a Level 2 Motor Vehicle qualification or apprenticeship, or be part way through an automotive course

  • A basic understanding of automotive systems and vehicle components

  • Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to work

  • Physical stamina to undertake workshop duties

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

  • Excellent reliability, punctuality and commitment


Essential Requirements:


A full UK driving licence is essential, as you will be required to move vehicles around the Nissan site.
Essential for candidates to have some experience within a garage, ideally suited for someone who has completed L2 apprenticeship.
