Brief Description
Working with experienced team members, you will learn skills required to make our range of sheds and summerhouses. You’ll understand how buildings are designed, where and how raw materials are sourced, and experience our sales team in action. We’re keen that you gain a good understanding of the business you’ll be part of.
Training to be Provided
During the practical period, you will have training delivered by a Skills Coach in the workplace and will be set tasks to support your off the job learning.
Future Prospects
It is hoped that on completion of the apprenticeship the apprentice will remain with our growing business.
Vacancy Detail
You will understand the importance of safety in a manufacturing environment and the need for quality at every stage to satisfy customer requirements.
Practically you will learn how to:
- Use Jigs and handtools
- Assemble wooden panels
- Glaze doors and panels
- Attach accessories such as latches and handles
- Pick and pack parts for delivery to the customer
- Operate an automatic saw

Other Information
On an ongoing daily basis the post involves working with wood and the regular lifting and carrying of heavy and awkward items (e.g. timber, shed panels). It will also involve the use of vibrating equipment such as air powered nail guns. A good level of physical fitness is therefore required.
