Brief Description
This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career in engineering with a company that values quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. As an Engineering Fitter Operative Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining the practical skills and technical knowledge needed to become a competent engineering fitter.
Training to be Provided
- This is a level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship (mechanical pathway) delivered over a period of 15 months
- The apprentice will be required to attend the training centre 1 day per week during this period - In-Comm Training Services in Telford, TF3 3AJ
Future Prospects
Successful completion of the Engineering Fitter Operative Apprenticeship could lead to a permanent position as a qualified Engineering Fitter within the company. As your skills and experience develop, there may be opportunities to progress into specialist areas such as maintenance engineering, installation and commissioning, mechanical assembly, or machine build. Vacancy Detail
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will learn how to assemble, install, maintain, repair, and test a wide range of mechanical equipment and engineering systems. You will develop an understanding of engineering drawings, safe working practices, quality standards, and the use of a variety of hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and fit mechanical components and engineering systems
- Carry out planned maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on machinery and equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions
- Use a range of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and accurately
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of engineering equipment
- Ensure all work is completed to company quality standards and health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Work as part of a team while developing the confidence to complete tasks independently
- Complete college work and evidence required for your apprenticeship programme
