Brief Description

Gain knowledge, skills and experience by fully engaging in the apprenticeship to achieve the qualification. Support departments including engineering, manufacturing, stores and workforce management, travel to customer sites to work safely and efficiently, and attend required training to gain accreditations and progress.

Training to be Provided

Training will be at HESTA, Hull where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer.   


Block release.


Refrigeration air conditioning and heat pump engineering technician. You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed      


You will undertake both on and off-the-job training by a team of industry qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge and experience that will help you become an engineer of the future!

Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time employment for the right candidate.

As our Engineering Apprentice, we’ll help you to become qualified so you can: 



  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance

  • Provide maintenance of equipment

  • Modify, test, and inspect condition-based monitoring and fault finding with our systems

  • Help improve systems on our sites where required

  • Work on technology which monitors and controls all aspects of processes and their performance across the site

  • Carry out risk assessments and method statements to ensure activities are always completed in a safe manner


In addition: 



  • Completing all tasks set by the supervisor and assisting wherever possible

  • Observing existing strategies and techniques and offering suggestions for improvement

  • Conducting research and collating data

  • Working closely with colleagues and mentors to foster professional values and build good relationships

  • Always observing health and safety guidelines

  • Attending meetings and workshops when required

  • Submitting to all forms of evaluation during the apprenticeship

Other Information

You must be able to travel to and from work and college.


This apprenticeship will be working away from home 18+, so needs to drive. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
