Brief Description
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to work within our busy pharmacy. We are a forward-thinking independent pharmacy group offering a wide range of pharmacy services and embracing automation. We possess a great team spirit where our team are like family.
Training to be Provided
Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship Standard:
- Weekly release at our Walsall Campus - 1-day per week (term time only)
- Full time apprentices will typically spend 15-months on-programme (before the gateway) working towards the occupational standard, with off the-job training
- The purpose of the end point assessment (EPA) is to test that an apprentice is fully capable of doing their job before they receive their apprenticeship certificate. It also helps to demonstrate that what an apprentice has learned can be applied in the real world
- The focus is now on the outcome of an apprenticeship and apprentices have to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours that employers have identified they need
Future Prospects
There is a potential full-time position offered to the right candidate.
Further training may be offered e.g. Level 3 Technician.
Vacancy Detail
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications to patients
- Prepare and package medications accurately and efficiently
- Label and organise medication containers
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Follow proper procedures for medication storage and handling
- Provide excellent customer service to patients
- Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries
