Brief Description
As a pharmacy technician you will support the safe , effective and lawful supply of medicines while working closely with Pharmacists and the wider health care team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop their skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.
Training to be Provided
Minimum 35 hours are required including 6 hours of training out of the workplace .
Future Prospects
With experience, become a departmental supervisor or manager
Move into a specialist area like Oncology, Paediatrics, or Clinical Trials
Take on a specialist role like a Clinical Pharmacy Technician, working with healthcare professionals and patients in hospital wards
Possibly go into research and development.
Work or move into pharmaceutical production, sales or marketing
Become a pharmacy tutor working with Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT).
Become a branch manager of a community pharmacy or launch a variety of services.
