Care Support Apprentice - Key Responsibilities:
As a Care Support Apprentice, you will learn how to provide high-quality care and support to people in their own homes while developing valuable skills and experience.
You will:
- Support individuals with their daily routines while promoting independence, dignity, and respect
- Read and understand care plans, risk assessments, and guidance to provide safe and personalised support
- Help with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and supporting with toileting where required
- Support with mobility, moving and handling, and safely using equipment
- Prepare meals and drinks, and support individuals with eating and drinking
- Support with medication in line with training, care plans, and company procedures
- Complete accurate care records using digital systems and report any changes or concerns
- Provide companionship, conversation, and social support to help reduce isolation
- Support with light household tasks such as laundry, shopping, and maintaining a safe environment
- Work closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care
- Follow company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements at all times
- Attend training sessions, team meetings, supervisions, and reviews to continue developing your skills
- Wear the correct uniform and represent the organisation professionally
- Ensure personal transport requirements are met if driving between visits
