  • We are looking for a motivated, professional and compassionate individual to join our Community Safety Team as a Apprentice Safeguarding Officer.This exciting apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer qualification.

Vacancy Detail

• Answer telephone enquiries from members of staff, councillors, and the public with assistance from colleagues when required.
• Promote well-being and cultural sensitivity in safeguarding decisions.
• Assist colleagues in preparing work programmes/plans, plan and conduct meetings.
• Deliver tasks and project activities as allocated by the safeguarding leads including working with other services within the council to improve safeguarding awareness, processes and procedures.
• Attend and take notes at meetings with Lead Officers and champions particularly the internal safeguarding group.
• Maintain relevant procedures and records of disclosures for channel referrals, safeguarding referrals and information requests from various safeguarding partners.
• Prepare agendas, minutes and other such documents required for meetings.
• Undertake other duties as required by the Community Safety Manager and Head of Community Protection.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings, one to ones and appraisal meetings.
• Undertake a development programme leading to a Safeguarding Support Officer Level 3 Qualification.
• Participate in your own development plan which will be agreed with the line manager and the assessor from the training provider.
• Tailor safeguarding responses to suit the individuals’ views, feelings and cultural influences.
• Recommend courses of action in relation to safeguarding concerns.
