Working Week: Monday - Friday 8am-4:45pm. The apprentice will attend college 2 days per week, with the rest of the week spent on-site.
Brief Description
To gain an understanding for Busch products through learning our assembly and machining processes. Engineering technicians are predominantly involved in highly skilled, complex work in the advanced manufacturing and engineering sector designing, building, servicing and repairing a range of engineering products and services.
Training to be Provided
In-house training plus the candidate will follow a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a Level 3 Machining Technician qualification. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West. If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A*-C (9-4) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 2 Functional Skill in the relevant subject.
Future Prospects
Ability to progress on to a higher apprenticeship.

Main Responsibilities include:
- Learn core manufacturing and engineering skills, knowledge and behaviours through the apprenticeship programme.
- Attend all courses and classes which are organised by the training provider and Busch GVT.
- Complete relevant projects & paperwork in a timely manner.
- Learn and understand the importance of Health & Safety within the workplace and the college.
- Adherence to health & safety policies and procedures at both college and workplace.
- Acquire an understanding and knowledge of Busch products and applications.
- Learn how to manufacture, repair and assemble Busch products.
- Follow our processes and ‘Back to basics’ principles at all times.
- Carry out inspections of work to ensure quality of work is to the company standard.
- Manage and organise workload
- Involvement in continuous improvement activities, 5s activities and Lean Manufacturing
- Maintain high level of housekeeping at all times within workshop
Other Information
Must be able to pick up a weight of 20 kilos due to lifting of castings and other metals used to machine parts.
