Brief Description

This role will support the smooth running of all business administration functions, gaining hands-on experience across general administration, export logistics, customer service and laboratory administration. This role is designed to provide a broad foundation in business administration operations.

Training to be Provided

Training will be provided by EMA Training to cover the content required to gain your Business Administration Level 3 qualification which will help start your career and give you an insight into the businesses processes and procedures.


Through a combination of online and in person visits to the workplace, you will be supported by your trainer/mentor to cover the required content for the business administration level 3 apprenticeship programme.  


You will be assessed during your end-point assessment through a knowledge test, project presentation and professional discussion.  

Future Prospects

Opportunity for a full-time position within the team upon completion of the apprenticeship programme.

General Administration:



  • Assist with day-to-day office administration tasks, including maintaining accurate records and filing systems

  • Support internal teams with document control, compliance, and general office duties

  • Handle incoming calls and emails professionally, directing queries as appropriate

  • Help with the preparation and review of business documentation

  • Provide general office support


Export & Logistics Administration:



  • Be involved in import and export logistics operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and documentation

  • Liaise with various carriers and our drivers

  • Track and trace shipments to ensure timely delivery and report any issues related to delays or damages

  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics transactions


Customer Service Administration:



  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, the company website and in person, providing timely and effective solutions

  • Process customer orders and monitor their progress through to delivery

  • Provide regular updates to customers on order and shipment status as required

  • Support the sales team in managing relationships and resolving complaints


Laboratory Administration:



  • Booking in customer samples for laboratory analysis

  • Be a point of contact for lab-related customer queries, distributing calls and responding to general enquiries

  • Distribute lab reports to customers, ensuring timely and accurate communication

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of lab activities, including sample logs, lab scorecard data, and summaries of analyses


Business Support Administration:



  • Participate in cross-departmental projects and meetings

  • Support the implementation of business improvement initiatives

  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and analysis as required
