Gestamp is a leader in engineering, manufacturing known for their commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous development. We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to start their career as a Mechatronics Apprentice through a structured apprenticeship program.
Training to be Provided
- This is a Level 3 Mechatronics apprenticeship, delivered over a 30 month period.
- The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, 2.5 days per week for the first 10 months, and the company for the rest of the time.

Vacancy Detail
The facility is packed with the latest equipment to develop the skills and knowledge of the apprentice. Daily tasks will include:
- Learn to carry out fault finding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment ; Presses, Robots, PLC’s, Electrical Control Systems, CNC machines, Hydraulics and Pneumatics
- Learn to undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on automated production facilities
- Learn programming, fault diagnosis, servicing and repair of robots, rotary positioners, mig welding and resistance welding equipment
- Learn to prepare technical reports to analyse breakdown causes and make recommendations on countermeasures
- Learn to support equipment commissioning and installation projects
- Maintain strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times
- Follow manufacturer's technical manuals to help locate faults
- Learn to use a range of testing instruments and tools to maintain and repair equipment
- Learn to cover complex activities on plant equipment, PLC fault finding and reprogramming as well as identifying and resolving electrical and mechanical faults
- To maintain high quality records of own learning as required by the training programme
- To plan appropriate NVQ observations with provider to ensure timely completion of requirement for the programme

The right candidate must have a genuine interest in engineering/manufacturing and be able to show excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
