Working Week: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm You'll be expected to attend the university one day a week.
Brief Description
In this role a bespoke training package will be available to ensure you become qualified to work as part of our Highways and Transport team, learning different roles within the team which will include Design of a range of highway & transportation schemes, surveys, data analysis, traffic management orders, and planned maintenance.

- The various standards and guidelines to design civil engineering projects
- The appropriate scientific, technical and engineering principles relating to the design, delivery and maintenance of infrastructure and buildings
- The code of conduct of relevant professional bodies and institutions including ethics and their application in design and delivery of projects

Skills
- Select and use appropriate scientific, technical and engineering principles, techniques and methods to contribute to the design and delivery of highway and transportation projects (via AutoCAD)

Future Prospects
- Site visits in this role is essential however the role is predominately office based
Vacancy Detail
You’ll also be part of our wider Highways and Transport Service and work closely with other teams including Highways operations and Client & Commissioning, who lead on a number of exciting projects.
Including conducting site visits, safety reviews and condition surveys.
This role is focused on highway and transportation design and the preparation of schemes for delivery to our contractor to construct.

- This role requires good use of computers / IT in order to undertake design drawings using AutoCAD, full training provided
