Working Week: Monday to Friday during term time, plus inset days (39 weeks). 08:50 - 15:30 with 40 minutes allocated to a break and lunch on the days in school.
Brief Description
Anthony Gell School is seeking an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs. Working under the guidance of class teachers and the SENDCO, you will help students learn independently and in groups. Support may be provided 1:1, in small groups, or within the classroom.
Future Prospects
After completion of the course there may be an opportunity to remain at the school in a TA capacity – this pays at Grade 5 or Grade 7 depending on the role. As part of Embark Federation there are opportunities to seek careers across other Embark Schools.
Vacancy Detail
The apprenticeship role involves the following:
- Liaising effectively with colleagues, managers, students and parents/carers.
- Be an effective mentor and role model for students.
- To promote high expectations of students with learning, development and behaviour.
- To support students and their integration to classroom. environments; supporting their access to the curriculum.
- To facilitate and support groups of students in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 (Year 7 to 13).
- Contribute to the management of transition arrangements for students.
