Working Week Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 16:30. Winter months (Nov-Feb) may differ slightly.
Brief Description
We offer the perfect foundation for a rewarding career in construction, with no experience needed. Over 18 months, you’ll work on live house-building sites alongside experienced groundworkers, gaining practical skills and learning the trade on the job, complemented by specialist training at the NHBC’s purpose-built hub.
Training to be Provided
- Training delivered at the NHBC Lichfield Hub, Ivison Way, Curborough, Lichfield WS13 8ES
- Around 1 week in every 7 for a 1 week block release (2 weeks at the start of the course) starting March 2027

Vacancy Detail
- Site preparation — clearing land, marking out work areas and supporting initial groundworks
- Excavation — digging trenches for foundations, drainage and utilities
- Concrete and surfacing — assisting with laying concrete, kerbs, paving and other hard‑surface materials
- Drainage installation — helping install pipes and ducting.
- Tools and machinery — using hand tools and small plant under supervision
- Materials handling — loading, unloading and organising materials
- Following instructions from supervisors and working to site plans
- Maintaining a clean, safe working environment
- Adhering to all health and safety requirements
